Animal sacrifice makes a comeback in Los Angeles.
On the East Los Angeles side of town, a small white Protestant church building, with a diverse community and decorated with nice flowers, has gotten the attention of the town this past April because of a small little lamb that they have been letting graze around the fenced in lawn of the church. It was first discovered by the local town because of a large group of children, that gradually got bigger made the neighborhood curious. What was going on at the church? The kids never went by their before even though they had a small basketball court on the property as well as a pretty well put together kids park. The kids were going home and telling their parents about the little white lamb that was there and gradually people started coming by, with their children, to pet the lamb and even bring it food.
It was a town topic, sure, but it was a cute little story that only gained a mild following through an end of the hour 7 o’clock news report that only ran for 3 minutes. Part of the strange novelty of the sight, and what got some locals voice concern was the fact that the parking lot was most of the time open, with a large gate being left open most days of the week, except for being closed off at about 6:30 pm every day. This was concerning of course because the church was located on a quite busy road, and while because of this the church itself got almost no attention because of this,(they rarely had more than 20 or 30 cars in the parking lot on Sunday’s; and even then that was on holidays) the loose lamb did become quite concerning. There was even a woman in a Subaru, who drove up to the church and tried knocking, though no one was there and no one ever came to the door. No one wants to hit the lamb and kill it, so gradually after a few days of the lamb being there, the natural traffic flow began to slow down around the area, but not to a noticeable degree to make the story noteworthy long term. An email to the church was sent by the local news team trying to get their statement for the cutesy news story was answered with the following email:
